Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Unit Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Comerica. As a key member of our Risk Management Lifecycle, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Identification and Assessment
    • Identify and understand risks in formal processes and ongoing business activities.
    • Monitor internal and external environments to identify changes in existing risks or new/emerging risks.
    • Initiate change management processes and execute risk assessment processes.
  • Mitigation, Controls, and Issue Management
    • Collaborate with Business Control Officers and Second Line of Defense to identify and execute risk management and remediation strategies.
    • Mitigate risk by designing and implementing controls within business processes.
    • Develop and implement procedures to document and systematize controls.
    • Monitor control performance and address deficiencies.
  • Monitoring, Quality Assurance, Testing, and Metrics
    • Collaborate with Business Control Officers and Second Line of Defense to institute monitoring and develop procedures for response to monitoring results.
    • Develop and implement quality assurance procedures to drive business objectives while mitigating risk.
    • Provide information and data to support testing and validation activities.
  • Reporting
    • Collaborate with Business Control Officers and Second Line of Defense to determine risk reporting frequency and granularity.
    • Develop and implement reporting procedures to produce and distribute risk reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 years of Risk Management or related experience within the Financial Services industry.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in their line of business.
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts, frameworks, and policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform risk identification and assessments using enterprise frameworks/policies.
  • Ability to design, implement, and monitor an effective control environment.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and drive timely resolution of issues.
Work Environment

This is a Category C position, with designated days or varying week-to-week days from 2-5 days in the office.

Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience.
