Job Description

Information Security Risk Consultant

The Information Security Risk Consultant is tasked with providing oversight, advisory services, and risk management assessment/support, along with reporting functions related to Comerica's Lines of Business (LOBs) and other divisions. This role requires leveraging specialized expertise to collaborate with business partners and shared services stakeholders, offering consulting support to enhance awareness and compliance with the Bank's enterprise risk management framework, policies, and standards. The consultant will ensure independent risk assessments, oversight, and advisory support to foster proactive risk identification, mitigation, and remediation, thereby safeguarding customers' and the Bank's data and assets.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Implement Second Line of Defense (SLOD) risk management functions concerning Technology Risk and Information Risk/Security by collaborating with LOBs and other bank stakeholders/divisions to review risk areas and related processes. Provide credible challenges regarding risk assessments, controls, strategic direction, and other activities related to the LOBs and Comerica. Ensure awareness of technology and information risk/security risks within the LOBs/Comerica and offer consulting support to drive proactive risk identification, mitigation/remediation, and accurate monitoring and reporting.
  • Assist in the development/documentation of necessary SLOD risk management functions/routines and controls, including creating accurate technology risk and information risk/security profiles. Report on Technology Risk and Information Risk/Security, noting risks and supporting mitigation/remediation plans/activities required to monitor risks, while assisting in the execution of SLOD functions with business partners. Prepare related reports to ensure enterprise, management, and board-level awareness of Technology Risk and Information Risk/Security profiles at both aggregate and dis-aggregate levels.
  • Engage with Bank stakeholders/divisions to ensure awareness, documentation, and accurate reporting of identified and potential risks (i.e., top line and emerging risks) affecting Comerica LOBs/functions from a Technology Risk and Information Risk/Security perspective. Conduct SLOD reviews and provide credible challenges to complete regulatory risk assessments in compliance with guidelines/requirements and/or certifications (i.e., PCI DSS, FFIEC, State Certifications, etc.).
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in technology and information risk topics to support all SLOD functions, assessments, reviews, audits, and related responsibilities of the second line of defense.
