Primary Objective
The Senior Manager of LNG Operations serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the LNG Operations Service Team, delivering extensive functional knowledge to Sempra Infrastructure's existing and developing facilities.
As a key member of a collaborative service team, the Senior Manager will leverage their profound LNG operations experience to enhance Operational Excellence across Sempra Infrastructure's LNG assets, in alignment with Sempra's Guiding Principles.
Areas of expertise encompass life safety, process safety, LNG process unit operations, operational planning and training, regulatory compliance, and effective communication of expertise to a diverse workforce, all within a customer-focused shared services framework supporting the commercial objectives of a premier LNG Export and Import operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with LNG facilities throughout all stages of Plant Operations, including production management, ship gas-up, cooldown, loading, vaporization, workforce allocation, and operational audits. Promote safe work practices and provide insights to develop and implement effective strategies.
- Provide cross-functional leadership and expertise in streamlining complex procedures and training, integrating international standards and regulatory requirements into workflows in a manner that is auditable. Advocate for the adoption of Best Practices across facilities.
- Act as a technical and operational resource for facilities, assessing their needs and delivering solutions to challenges, including the integration of Process Simulators into training programs, staffing strategies for projects, and the use of software applications for scheduling and planning.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of USCG regulations, including 33 CFR 127, and assist facilities with audit preparations and inspections as necessary.
- Oversee the development of OPEX budgets, operational plans, and staffing strategies for projects, utilizing knowledge of cost components relevant to LNG facilities.
- Foster relationships with LNG Operating facilities and industry organizations, staying informed on trends that may impact Sempra Infrastructure's LNG assets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned (limited to 5% of responsibilities).
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of experience in LNG facility operations, progressing from Operator to management roles.
- Willingness to travel to facilities outside the United States.
- Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape, particularly USCG, PHMSA, and FERC regulations.
- Knowledge of the operational and commercial dynamics of LNG Facilities.
- Ability to lead and guide personnel with diverse responsibilities related to LNG Facilities.
- Proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently while meeting corporate and project objectives.
- Master's degree.
