About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled LNG Origination Manager to join our team at Cheniere Energy. As a key member of our origination team, you will be responsible for identifying potential customers and negotiating long-term sales and purchase agreements with counterparties in the Americas region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage business relationships with new and existing counterparties in the US, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
  • Support the origination of medium- and long-term sales of LNG and business development opportunities in the US, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
  • Represent Cheniere in customer meetings, customer events, conferences, and industry gatherings.
  • Perform various tasks to support the company's development of its short-term LNG trading activities, shipping, long-term LNG supply portfolio, and business development.
  • Produce or coordinate the production of company analysis reports to help improve understanding of counterparties, evaluate their creditworthiness, and the environment in which they operate.
  • Evaluate research analysis and economical/analytical inputs on gas and LNG market developments and projects in a number of countries in the Americas and its implications in the existing negotiation.
  • Coordinate internal expert advice (e.g. research, legal, risk, financial) and with Cheniere offices in Houston and London during negotiations with counterparts.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Accounting, or other applicable degree. Previous experience in LNG or energy market is preferable. Lead Analyst – Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant work experience. Manager – Seven (7) or more years of relevant work experience.

Work Environment

The job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. Often exposed to stressful situations. Work will be performed from home, after normal work hours, and on weekends and holidays. Periodically travel as business requires.
