Role Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing will support the Director of Nursing in various administrative responsibilities and oversee nursing personnel.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
Licenses/Certification: Valid RN license in the state of employment preferred; valid LPN license if not an RN; valid CPR certification.
Experience: Minimum of seven years in nursing, with at least two years in a supervisory role within a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison among nursing units, admissions, and the Director of Nursing.
- Organize and lead meetings to address resident care matters.
- Monitor and assess nursing staff performance, providing recommendations for training.
- Assist in budget preparation for the nursing department.
- Conduct audits of nursing documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
- Facilitate the professional development of nursing staff.
- Participate in the on-call nursing system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to lead and inspire nursing staff.
- Effective communication skills with residents, families, and team members.
- Proficient in emergency response and decision-making.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Understanding of nursing regulations and standards.
