Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer or Protection and Control Engineer to contribute to the reliability and safety of our electrical systems. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our power grid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evaluate relay protection and control activities for electrical substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Design and review P&C engineering designs for electrical substations, focusing on robust systems and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams to drive successful project execution, participating in scheduling, resource planning, and cost control.
  • Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, and checkout, utilizing problem-solving skills to maintain system reliability.
  • Review and approve P&C work by other team members, ensuring quality and adherence to industry standards.
  • Model transmission system impedances and perform short circuit fault studies to enhance system reliability.
  • Conduct area protection studies and recommend settings for transmission line and station protection schemes.
  • Stay up-to-date with NERC P&C standards and apply them to our projects.
  • Coordinate with transmission customers and interconnected companies to address protection issues.
  • Identify, clarify, and resolve protection and control problems through thorough analysis.
Requirements
  • 1-5 years of experience in Utility Electrical Engineering and Protection & Controls.
  • Experience using CAPE, ASPEN, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of Power systems and Relays.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering specialization.
