About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Department Manager to join our team. As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising the housekeeping, laundry, and floor care staff at a single site. You will lead teams to complete light housekeeper, heavy housekeeper, and laundry aide duties on varying shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Lead staff training, quality control, and in-servicing
- Coordinate and ensure the satisfactory and timely completion of project and program work done in the building on varying shifts
- Maintain income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment records
- Act as liaison between building occupants or administrators and HCSG staff
- Communicate effectively with all directives from managers, building occupants, and administrators to HCSG staff
- Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions
- Assist in the training of safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions while adhering to all safety precautions
- Ensure the established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met
- Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is achieved at all times
- Follow proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing procedures/techniques
- Assist in implementing training, quality control procedures, and in-servicing of housekeeping staff
We are looking for a candidate with a positive attitude, ability to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Two years' experience in Environmental Services in a healthcare environment and personnel supervision is desired.
