Job Summary

The Communications Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote MSU IT's services and initiatives. This position will work closely with the MSU IT team to conceptualize, create, and manage communications projects, including event production and content creation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and plan MSU IT events, including coordination with vendors and campus partners.
  • Support communications for specific MSU IT departments as defined by the team manager.
  • Coordinate and distribute IT information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute internal and external engagement campaigns, content plans, and projects to increase awareness and visibility of MSU IT's services and value.
  • Strategize, develop, write, edit, and adapt content for multiple communication channels, including emails, websites, social media, print, articles, and events.
  • Engage in strategic storytelling through feature writing and article development.
  • Manage content and updates to the public-facing MSU IT website via a content management system.
  • Work with stakeholders to define, plan, and execute projects.
  • Identify information sources and conduct interviews to obtain information.
  • Support the team in goal setting, execution, tracking, and reporting per project, campaign, department, etc.
  • Help plan, create promotional assets, generate buzz, and activate events and activities for key audiences.
  • Coordinate multimedia components for integrated communication efforts by working closely with the team's graphic artist and video production.
  • Support internal and external special projects as needed.
