City Planning and Community Engagement Opportunity

The City of Philadelphia is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in the development and communication of its Citizen Planner program.

About the Role:

  • This internship position is perfect for students interested in community planning and citizen advocacy issues, with good communication skills and basic MS Office proficiency.
  • The intern will work closely with the program team to create promotional videos, design introductory presentations, and develop quarterly newsletters.
  • This role offers flexible hours (10-20 hours per week) and has a flexible start and end date.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview alumni and draft stories for the CPI website.
  • Schedule daily social media posts and create promotional videos for the program.
  • Develop quarterly CPI newsletter and alumni newsletter.
  • Design introductory presentations for materials in the CPI in a Box resource.
  • Create Alumni survey and analyze responses.
  • Clean up and maintain CPI participant database.
  • Support Spring CPI course and participate in City groups: Social Media Working Group and Equitable Engagement Collaborative.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, with majors including Community Planning, Geography, Communications.
  • Able to provide academic credit if preferred, with the Director working with the intern to ensure the scope of responsibilities meets their objectives and interests.
