Community Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team at Resources for Human Development. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Job Summary:
The Community Support Specialist is responsible for providing direct care and support to consumers in their homes and community-based settings. This includes assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and facilitating social integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to consumers, focusing on their unique needs and goals
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores
- Encourage and facilitate social integration through community activities and outings
- Work collaboratively with clinical staff to develop and implement person-centered plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Transport consumers to appointments and activities as needed
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience in human services or a related field
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
What We Offer:
RHD offers a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
