The coordinator will create initiatives that encourage students to actively participate in Jewish life on campus, develop leadership skills, and connect with existing Israel-related opportunities.

This role is ideal for individuals with expertise in relationship management, event coordination, and program innovation. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in community engagement and the ability to implement creative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and enhance the Birthright Israel program, including recruitment, interviews, orientations, and trip enhancements.
  • Encourage ongoing participation in campus activities and Jewish life for Birthright Israel participants, focusing on Israel education, community service, and Jewish learning.
  • Foster a vibrant alumni network of Birthright Israel participants to promote active community involvement.
  • Empower students to build strategic partnerships regarding Israel with other campus organizations.
  • Support and guide student-led initiatives related to Israel and Jewish life, attending events as a representative of Hillel.
  • Act as the primary support for Israel-focused student organizations.
  • Develop personal connections with students to inspire their passion for Israel and advocacy efforts.
  • Create and execute a strategic plan for Israel engagement.
  • Raise awareness of current topics related to Israel.
  • Maintain event records and attendance for evaluation and improvement, as well as manage communications through various platforms.
  • Collaborate with student groups to enhance programming and track progress.
  • Engage one-on-one with Jewish students using innovative approaches to establish genuine relationships.
  • Participate in Hillel staff activities, including weekly programs and holiday events.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 0-2 years in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge of Israel and Jewish culture, with prior travel experience in Israel preferred.
  • Experience in recruitment or sales through professional roles or volunteer work.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, set timelines, and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in relationship building, with a genuine interest in connecting with others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Creative thinker who can inspire students to engage.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proactive in program management and comfortable seeking guidance.
  • Open to learning and growth in areas of knowledge.
  • Passionate about helping students explore their connection to Israel, recognizing diverse perspectives.
