Position Summary
The Bilingual Seasonal Youth Care Worker is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care by providing direct supervision and maintaining a constant line of sight. This role involves overseeing unaccompanied minors (UAC) during various activities and transitions, while modeling appropriate behavior.
- Maintain direct supervision of children at all times, ensuring their safety and security.
- Oversee activities such as recreation, meals, and relaxation periods.
- Engage with children through games and recreational activities.
- Exhibit a positive and respectful demeanor towards all children in care.
- Ensure the safety and accountability of the facility.
- Guide and support children in daily living activities, including hygiene, housekeeping, and educational pursuits.
- Implement individual treatment plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Identify and respond to escalating behaviors to maintain a safe environment.
- Transport children to necessary appointments and court hearings as required.
- Collaborate with program administrators to ensure effective communication and program implementation.
- Foster positive relationships with families, colleagues, and community organizations.
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence and promote trauma-informed practices.
- Embrace cultural diversity and develop inclusive practices for diverse populations.
- Ensure compliance with legal guidelines and internal policies.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:- Availability to work any 10-hour shift, including weekends.
- Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Preferred college degree in a Human Services field.
- At least one year of experience working with minors is mandatory.
- Flexibility to adapt to shift requirements.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
- This is a seasonal position with a maximum duration of 120 days, with potential for permanent placement (not guaranteed).
The position primarily involves working in an office setting, with occasional overnight travel and public speaking engagements. The role requires regular computer use and physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
