Job Description

**Job Title:** Assistant Facilities Security Officer

**Company:** Applied Research Associates (ARA)

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Facilities Security Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing security support to our facilities and ensuring the safety and security of our employees and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with security in-processing for new employees, including orientation and clearance application submissions.
  • Submit visit access requests using Defense Information Systems for Security (DISS).
  • Perform status checks on current investigations, determine upcoming reinvestigations dates, and relay the information to employees.
  • Assist the Facilities Security Officer with conducting security self-inspections, physical security surveys, and threat/vulnerability assessments.
  • Assist with conducting and presenting security presentations to staff members.
  • Track and ensure security trainings are current.
  • Administer COMSEC accounts, including ViPer and STE phone.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and 4-5 years of related experience.
  • Eligibility for a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Experience working with federal/government agencies or defense contractors.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to multi-task and work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience.
  • Previous working knowledge of DISS and SF86s.
  • Previous working knowledge of DD254s.
  • Working experience with Access Commander.
