Position: Director of Family Services
Arc Broward is seeking a Director of Family Services (DFS) to spearhead our Family Strengthening and Respite Care with Enrichment initiatives, along with overseeing our Intake, Social Services, and Case Management within the Children's Division.
The DFS plays a crucial role in providing effective and supportive leadership that fosters a culture of appreciation and support for team members, aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and core values. This position is accountable for delivering high-quality, person-centered services and support to families of children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategically plan and supervise the delivery of direct support services, ensuring adherence to Individual Person-Centered Planning, program design, and service delivery models tailored for children and families.
2. Manage personnel activities including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation to ensure compliance with HR policies and regulatory standards, while promoting team development. The DFS will oversee 3 to 5 direct reports and support a department of approximately 20 team members.
3. Maintain fiscal responsibility by overseeing departmental budgets in line with sound financial practices.
4. Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, policies, procedures, and regulations. Prepare and submit necessary reports for funders in accordance with established contracts.
5. Enhance public relations by educating the community about individuals with disabilities and advocating for their rights and responsibilities.
6. Oversee the enrollment and disenrollment processes for children and families.
7. Manage participant records effectively.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Child and Family Services, Human Services Administration, Special Education, or a related field is required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, with strong organizational, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills. Attention to detail is essential.
- Experience in managing complex contracts with governmental funders, foundations, and other stakeholders, including performance and outcomes management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large, diverse teams and mentoring team members.
- Background in family strengthening, parent education, and social service programs for children with disabilities and their families.
