Accounting Manager Job Description

The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day accounting functions of the Company. This position reports directly to the Accounting Director and offers significant potential for professional development and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support the Accounting function, including AP, AR, and GL.
  • Oversee the month and year-end closing process.
  • Prepare month-end schedules, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Develop and prepare internal financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow.
  • Assist with parent company monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Support external audit preparation and requests.
  • Research internal audit results.
  • Develop and implement a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare various tax filings, including Annual reports, Sales Tax, Fuel Tax, and Property Tax.
  • Review and oversee payroll processing for multi-state and international payroll.
  • Prepare internal payroll reporting and analysis.
  • Coding expert for all customer-specific billable transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing invoices.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 7-10 years of General Accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of general accepted accounting principles, financial systems, and accounting processes.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processing and regulations compliance.
Special Position Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office skills, including experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and is detail-oriented.
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to interact with all levels of management within the company and with vendors and customers.
