POSITION SUMMARY

The York Group, Inc. is looking for a qualified Logistics Operations Supervisor to join our team. This role is essential in overseeing and coordinating the activities of personnel involved in tracking and maintaining records for outgoing and incoming shipments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


• Analyze shipping documents, bills of lading, orders, and other records to establish shipping priorities, work assignments, and necessary shipping methods to meet deadlines.

• Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with company safety protocols.

• Assess space requirements and inform relevant personnel if loads are incomplete or if additional space is needed.

• Oversee loading operations to ensure adherence to shipping specifications.

• Examine material handling equipment for any defects and alert maintenance staff as required.

• Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs.

• Direct the movement of shipments from the shipping area to storage and work zones.

• Supervise incoming shipments and FedEx/UPS activities to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and condition of all shipments.

• Determine space needs and organize the positioning of incoming supplies.

• Design stocking locations.

• Inspect unloading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and notify the appropriate personnel in case of damaged or incomplete orders.

• Plan, direct, and coordinate employee activities to achieve organizational goals. Mentor, coach, train, and develop team members.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS


• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.

• High proficiency in computer applications, including SAP (training will be provided).

• Strong skills in analysis, prioritization, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from inception to completion), and planning.

• Ability to cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as with internal and external clients.

• Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Ability to influence peers and management.

• Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT


• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate effectively through talking, hearing, and seeing.

• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock, and hazardous chemicals.

• The noise level in the work environment may be elevated.
