Position Overview

In the role of Senior Software Engineer, you will take charge of initiatives that enhance and expand the comprehensive suite of TRSS solutions, facilitating global data access through sophisticated search capabilities, large-scale data ingestion, and analytical processing. Your expertise will be utilized in tools such as MongoDB, Elastic, and Kafka, alongside the development of cutting-edge web applications. Collaboration with fellow TRSS analytical team members and developers will be essential to gather customer requirements and devise innovative solutions. This position calls for a versatile engineer proficient in data-centric systems and some frontend UI development, providing an excellent opportunity to engage in new software development within a vast codebase.

  • Transform concepts into technical solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Possibly lead projects or initiatives while mentoring junior developers.
  • Contribute to the specialized TRSS development team by designing, implementing, and delivering software solutions and data science projects, in addition to enhancing and supporting existing applications.
  • Collaborate with TRSS analytical staff to gather requirements, brainstorm ideas, and create documentation.
  • Present new software solutions as required.
  • Continuously learn and broaden your skill set on the job.
  • Take ownership of your work and demonstrate a commitment to customer success.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in professional software development.
  • Exhibit strong moral integrity and a solid work ethic.
  • Experience in mentoring junior developers and/or leading small projects or teams.
  • Exceptional engineering and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passionate, intelligent, and articulate technologist.
  • Development experience with the following technologies:
    Backend: Java, SpringBoot
    Frontend: React (Preferred), Angular, or Vue.
  • Database proficiency: MongoDB, MySQL.
  • DevOps experience: Docker containerization, Jenkins, Git, Maven.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is essential to comply with government contract requirements.
  • AWS experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Neo4J or other graph technologies.
  • Experience with Kafka.
  • Knowledge of Grails and Groovy.
  • Experience with ElasticSearch.
