About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior RF/Antenna Application Engineer to join our team at ANSYS. As a key member of our Customer Excellence team, you will partner with our customers to engineer innovative solutions, solve real-world engineering problems, and deploy ANSYS software in their design workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, including technical discovery, negotiation of technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
  • Interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows, analyze how to address customers' requirements using ANSYS products and platform, and articulate ANSYS' value proposition.
  • Assist in creating differentiating simulation solutions using the ANSYS platform and products, deploy the solutions within customers' design workflows.
  • Develop competence as a subject matter expert and industry expert, collaborate with the ANSYS product development teams to translate customer requirements into exciting new product features, test new releases of ANSYS products on industrial problems, and develop application best practices.
  • Support ANSYS field and digital marketing, author conference presentations, and contribute to consulting services and training classes.
Requirements
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment, with demonstrated use of relevant ANSYS software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
  • Experience with antenna applications or RF component design, coupled RF-thermal simulations, and design knowledge of antennas, RF components, matching networks, and installed antenna performance.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and previous usage of ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS SIwave, ANSYS Q3D Extractor, or other simulation software involving real-world, industry-level applications.
  • Knowledgeable with package, printed circuit boards, and connector design processes and EDA Tools, fundamental knowledge of high-frequency, microwave, and antenna concepts, including S-parameters, wave propagation, antenna radiation patterns, scattering analysis, and component coupling/interference analysis.
  • Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within ANSYS' business and is/will be sought out for advice by other ANSYS engineers.
  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English, strong organizational and time management skills, and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time, DoD TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required (or the ability and willingness to obtain them).
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS+8, MS+6, or PhD+3 years of professional experience in an engineering software environment.
  • 2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer-facing roles using engineering software.
  • Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives.
