Position Summary

The Safety and Environmental Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the safety and environmental initiatives within our facility. This role involves collaboration with management, staff, and external partners to ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations in a manufacturing context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions based on inspection outcomes to enhance safety measures.
  • Oversee existing safety programs, including emergency response plans and employee training on safety protocols.
  • Respond effectively to workplace incidents and maintain accurate records for management review.
  • Assist in environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management and pollution prevention.
  • Support the development of training materials and presentations for safety training sessions.
  • Participate in audits and assist in the implementation of corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Provide training to employees on safety best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Be available to support additional shifts as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in safety science, environmental health and safety, or industrial hygiene.
  • OSHA or similar EHS certification is advantageous.

Experience:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in EHS-related roles, with a preference for candidates with manufacturing industry experience.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI regulations.
  • Ability to interpret safety regulations and safety data sheets.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
