Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team at Heatherwood, a premier independent living community for active seniors in Tewksbury.

About the Position:

  • This position involves preparing nutritious and appetizing meals while working as part of a team to provide smooth kitchen operations.
  • A friendly, professional, and energetic personality is required, along with a passion for improving the lives of others.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare meals from established menus and recipes.
  2. Have experience preparing meals from scratch and batch cooking practices.
  3. Follow portion control policies and maintain food service sanitation practices.
  4. Be ServSafe certified and maintain a valid food handlers permit.
  5. Communicate clearly and concisely with residents.
  6. Maintain organizational skills and excellent customer service skills.
  7. Work well under time constraints and meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Two years' experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
  • PREFERRED: Verifiable culinary training/education.
