Senior Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate to join our team in the Department of Neuroscience & Regenerative Medicine at Augusta University. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the field of molecular, cellular, and electrophysiological aspects of mouse taste bud regeneration.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines.
- Perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and neurophysiological experiments, including the use of transgenic mouse models, in vivo nerve recording, mouse surgery, qRT-PCR, immunofluorescence, and confocal imaging.
- Analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques and develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis.
- Compose articles for publication in scientific journals and review articles prepared by others.
- Advise principal investigators, other postdocs, students, and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures, and other technological aspects of research activities.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area, and two years of experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical trial research. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field with a minimum of five years' research and/or clinical experience and previous supervisory experience is also acceptable.
