Key Responsibilities:
Accountable for all essential duties of a Physical Therapist I.
Engagement in educational and mentorship initiatives with Physical Therapy students, medical trainees, colleagues, hospital personnel, and/or the community.
Involvement in the expansion and operations of Rehabilitation Services.
Undertakes additional related tasks as assigned.

Licensure Requirements:
Must possess Illinois state licensure.

Education and Experience Needed:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
2-3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare environment.
Experience supervising students.
Advanced continuing education is required.
Experience in delivering in-services to colleagues.
Core Stroke Team mandates 8 hours of annual Stroke Education.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication skills.
Ability to independently provide advanced clinical skills and expertise.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Potential exposure to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.
Direct contact with bodily fluids.
Involves pushing, pulling, lifting, and transferring patients.
Capacity to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds frequently and/or 25 to 50 pounds consistently).
Services may be required on weekends, holidays, and during early evening hours.
Off-site locations may be involved.
This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.

For patient lifts exceeding 35 pounds, or when the patient is unable to assist, patient handling equipment is to be utilized, with at least one other associate present when available.

Unique patient lifting/movement scenarios will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
