Chemical Engineering Internship Opportunity

The J.R. Simplot Company is a leading global food and agriculture company with a diverse portfolio of businesses. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemical Engineering or Chemistry intern to join our team in Pocatello, ID.

Job Summary

This internship will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mining and manufacturing of phosphate ore and production of phosphate and ammonia-based fertilizers. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of new products and processes, as well as refining existing ones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine aspects of chemical engineering and chemistry under close supervision
  • Assist with lab and pilot-scale testing and evaluation
  • Collect and prepare data for evaluation
  • Support staff members as needed
Requirements
  • Working towards a BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office products
