Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at The John Stewart Company. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Work Order Management: Schedule and respond to work orders, including following up with residents and management as needed.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensure preventative maintenance scheduling and performance is up to date.
  • Cosmetic and Routine Maintenance: Perform cosmetic and routine maintenance throughout the community.
  • Unit Turnovers and Preparations: Conduct unit turnovers and preparations for new move-ins, meeting deadlines as required.
  • Inspections and Quality Control: Conduct move-in and move-out inspections, as well as quarterly inspections with PM.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Perform plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and masonry repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate, schedule, and oversee vendor work, as necessary, with Property Manager.
  • Emergency Coverage: Be on-call for off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance coverage, as scheduled.
Requirements
  • On-Call Availability: Must be able to function in an on-call capacity and have reliable transportation.
  • Basic Skills: Basic mathematical and computer skills, with fluency in English. Bilingual a plus.
  • Time Management: Very good use of time management skills.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience performing maintenance tasks in an apartment development or comparable position.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of REAC and other regulatory inspections a plus.
