Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at The John Stewart Company. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our properties.

• Scheduling and Work Order Management: Schedule and respond to work orders in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard.
• Preventative Maintenance: Insure that preventative maintenance scheduling and performance is up to date, ensuring that all equipment and systems are properly maintained to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Cosmetic and Routine Maintenance: Perform cosmetic and routine maintenance tasks throughout the community, including unit turnovers and preparations for new move-ins.
• Inspections and Troubleshooting: Conduct move-in and move-out inspections, as well as quarterly inspections with PM, to identify and address any maintenance issues.
• Repairs and Troubleshooting: Perform plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and masonry repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
• Vendor Coordination: Coordinate and schedule vendor work as necessary with the Property Manager.
• On-Call Coverage: Be available for on-call coverage for off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance as scheduled.

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience performing maintenance tasks in an apartment development or comparable position.
• Skills: Basic mathematical and computer skills, fluency in English, and good time management skills.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications: Knowledge of REAC and other regulatory inspections is a plus.
