Ramin Tayami MD Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced ophthalmology practice in Southern California. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering top-notch medical services.

Key Responsibilities:

Ophthalmic Technician

  1. Provide medical equipment and supplies to physicians and clinics to ensure efficient operations.
  2. Maintain organized and clean exam rooms before and after clinic sessions.
  3. Manage eye drop samples and interact with medical representatives under the supervision of the BO Supervisor.
  4. Respond to patient inquiries in the office and over the phone, providing excellent customer service.
  5. Process prescription refills and obtain authorizations for in-office procedures and specialist referrals.
  6. Conduct various medical tests, including Visual Fields, OCT, Fundus Photos, Pachymetry, and Topography.
  7. Calibrate equipment daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly as directed by the manufacturer.
  8. Administer ILUX treatments for dry eye.
  9. Accurately document patient information in NextGen and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the system.
  10. Send patient information to the Patient Portal.
  11. Travel to satellite offices as needed.
  12. Order back office supplies and inventory in assistance to the BO supervisor.
  13. Manage and catalog photos into NextGen.
  14. Assist with patient workups in Needles and support physicians as needed.
  15. Train new hires and students.
  16. Stock satellite offices.
  17. Maintain, clean, and handle back office equipment.
  18. Schedule outside testing, such as retinal evaluations, CT scans, MRI's, and print pathology for physician review.

Administrative Non-Back Office Work:

  1. You may be asked to participate in administrative functions within the office on an as-needed basis.
  2. You may be asked to perform front office and patient scheduling tasks and duties as well.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year back office experience in ophthalmology.
  • Experience working with a retina specialist.
  • COA, COT, or COMT certification preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • NextGen experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Management or leadership experience a plus but not required.
  • Able to work 2 Saturdays a month.

Benefits:

Full-time employees are eligible for health insurance (medical, dental, vision), PTO, and a profit-sharing plan.

Compensation:

$20-$26 hourly wage.
