Job Overview

Pharmaceutical Care Specialist

Our client, a prominent healthcare organization, is seeking a Pharmaceutical Care Specialist. This role involves delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical services across multiple healthcare facilities. The specialist will primarily engage in clinical responsibilities, dedicating over 60% of their time to patient care activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds on a daily basis
  • Oversee, monitor, prepare, dispense, and accurately document patient medication therapies
  • Consult with healthcare providers regarding medication management and safety
  • Deliver drug-related information and ensure proper communication regarding medication dispensing
  • Clinical duties include managing anticoagulant therapy, antimicrobial treatments, total parenteral nutrition, and patient-controlled analgesia, among others.
  • Opportunity to mentor pharmacy students and residents, fostering their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
  • Completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience is required
  • Pharmacy licensure or eligibility in the relevant state is mandatory
