The Role

We are seeking a Senior Production Specialist to join our Rochester Equipment Manufacturing team. This role will support the creation of standard work, continuous 5S implementation, training documentation, and training improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and updating documentation, as well as leading projects as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Primarily an A shift position, with flexibility to adjust the schedule to meet document update deadlines in support of production when issues arise.
  • Lead the creation of Standard Work within the REM team, working alongside Subject Matter Experts.
  • Ensure training records are complete for all REM personnel.
  • Recommend changes to employee ITPs, maintain Training Checklists, implement Work Center skills matrix, and coordinate training to meet skills depth goals.
  • Onboard new employees.
  • Manage periodic document reviews as the Document Business Owner.
  • Prepare Change Orders in collaboration with the Subject Matter Expert to implement process changes in the form of DCOs, NCOs, and TCOs to support Production.
  • Close Change Plans associated with Change Orders.
  • Ensure all documentation on the floor is the current effective revision.
  • Participate in project teams or project work.
  • Provide guidance to OCD Community change originators on Process for Managing Change and how Windchill facilitates that process.
  • Assist in 5S and Lean initiatives on the production floor.
  • Support the production floor by maintaining the consumable inventory and replenishing supplies through the ARIBA ordering system.
  • Manage KPIs for the factory to ensure adherence to production goals.
  • Lead the Cost Improvement team in the REM.
The Individual

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong personal accountability, personal organization, clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office.
  • A desire to support others and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Process improvement skills.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, a basic understanding of OEE and Manufacturing Equipment Excellence, proficiency as a Windchill Author, and familiarity with Ariba.

Key Working Relationships

The successful candidate will work closely with:

  • Internal partners, including Equipment Manufacturing Operators, Quality Engineers, Field Engineers, Customer Service, and Warehouse personnel.
  • External partners, including Material Suppliers and Customers.
The Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting, with up to 75% of time spent at a desk, standing, or sitting for extended periods. No strenuous physical activity is required, although occasional light lifting of files and related materials (up to 10 lbs.) may be necessary.
