Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
  • Reconciliation and Budget Management: Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness, and manage and monitor the organization's budget, providing regular reports on budget performance and variances.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports on financial performance, trends, and variances.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for internal departments and the Board of Deans and its committees.
  • Grant Management: Monitor and manage grant funds, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards.
  • Financial Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with program managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification: CPA certification or progress towards certification is desirable.
