POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Security Specialist is responsible for delivering direct security services and public safety measures.

Compensation: $23.54/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a visible deterrent to criminal activities and suspicious behavior in designated areas.
  • Respond promptly to both emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Utilize verbal intervention techniques during crises, establishing rapport with individuals exhibiting aggressive behavior.
  • Physically manage crises when necessary, ensuring safety while minimizing harm.
  • Provide escort services and assist client personnel as needed.
  • Remain vigilant and alert to potential risks that could harm individuals or compromise property.
  • Document incidents accurately and maintain clear, legible reports.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and client guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by security leadership.
  • Handle and maintain firearms in accordance with company standards.
  • Apply the Use of Force Policy appropriately.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in military police, corrections, or law enforcement is advantageous.
  • Prior public service experience is desirable.
  • IAHSS certifications preferred or to be obtained within one year of employment.
  • Must secure and maintain relevant security licenses and certifications.
  • Ability to complete all required training and pass competency evaluations.
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with driving guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office, with the capacity to learn new software.
  • Commitment to regular attendance as per company policy.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine desire to assist others.

TASER Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet and maintain TASER qualification standards.
  • Obtain and keep any necessary local or state permits for TASER use.
  • Participate in and pass TASER training as required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

This is a full-time role with variable hours based on client needs. The position may require working beyond 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. The work environment can be fast-paced and demanding.

Employees will spend approximately 75% of their time seated, with the remaining time spent walking or standing. The role may involve lifting objects up to 25 pounds and requires specific vision capabilities.
