Key Responsibilities

This role will be based in one of the following locations: Safford or Bagdad with anticipated travel to support other FMI sites. Travel frequency will depend on business requirements.
  • Acts as a technical authority in various aspects of past and current operations and maintenance. Provides technical support for maintenance and commissioning/decommissioning activities. Possesses extensive knowledge and understanding of industrial processes and related equipment.
  • Serves as a project leader and collaborates with maintenance and operations teams to enhance equipment reliability and operational uptime. This includes, but is not limited to, asset preservation, commissioning, and rebuilds. Team members may include internal staff or external vendors/contractors.
  • Reviews maintenance documentation for plant and equipment to identify potential and existing issues, facilitating best maintenance practices. Upon identifying a problem, determines the root cause and implements actions to resolve and/or prevent production and maintenance challenges.
  • Collaborates with Planners, Operations, and other stakeholders involved in planning critical maintenance activities.
  • Promotes safety and environmental protocols to enhance and improve maintenance practices. Mentors personnel on best practices (process, tooling, specifications, etc.).
  • Works collaboratively to develop and implement standard maintenance templates to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and seven (7) years of journeyman-level mechanical maintenance repair/rebuild experience with industrial equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, etc.), including project management experience.
  • Journeyman-level proficiency in reading, understanding, and applying information from technical manuals and other reference materials, including blueprints.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in all units of measure, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work safely around industrial equipment, including all relevant adverse conditions, while using all applicable personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Strong written, verbal, and communication skills to meet training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
  • Alignment training certification.
  • Completion of a Mechanical Maintenance Apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
Conditions
  • Willingness to work any shift, including weekends and holidays (shifts may rotate in a 24/7/365 operation).
  • Frequent travel may be required.
  • Personal protective equipment is mandatory when working in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing, or plant environment, including hard hats, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirators, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other required protective gear.

Compensation:

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $72,000-$98,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
