Laboratory Director

The Laboratory Director at Urology America, MSO is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory. This dynamic leader will be instrumental in ensuring that all laboratory functions are performed with precision and efficiency.
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill this key position, providing vision and leadership to drive business growth while maintaining high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
Direct and supervise laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Ensure technical proficiency among team members through regular training and quality control programs.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory ComplianceMaintain strict adherence to regulatory standards, including CAP and CLIA guidelines.
Implement and enforce laboratory safety protocols, guaranteeing a safe working environment for all employees.
Develop and maintain comprehensive records of laboratory activities, test results, and quality control data.
Operational EfficiencyOptimize laboratory processes to ensure accurate and timely testing, minimizing errors and improving overall efficiency.
Develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions caused by equipment failures or other operational issues.
Communication and CollaborationFoster effective communication among laboratory staff, physicians, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and problem-solving.
Cultivate strong relationships with local healthcare providers and regulatory bodies to stay informed about industry developments and best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements- Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related science; Master's degree or PhD preferred.
- MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) certification required; Certified Histology Technician and/or Histotechnologist certification a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist in a clinical laboratory setting; minimum 3 years' experience as a Manager/Supervisor in a clinical laboratory.
