Position Overview:

The Community Council of Nashua, Inc. is seeking a dedicated full-time Employment Support Specialist to become a vital member of our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The Employment Support Specialist is responsible for delivering proven supported employment services to adults experiencing severe and persistent mental health challenges and/or co-occurring disorders. This position plays a crucial role in assisting clients to identify and reach their employment aspirations, tailored to their individual interests and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for the employment of individuals with mental health conditions through direct engagement with employers, service organizations, and professional networks.
  • Collaborate closely with NH Vocational Rehabilitation to facilitate employment opportunities for clients, including contacting employers about job openings.
  • Work in partnership with employers, treatment teams, and supervisors to ensure that services align with the established treatment plan.
  • Provide essential clinical support, which may include medication management, functional support services, crisis intervention, and other relevant services that cater to the client's needs, in accordance with the ACT model and under the guidance of the ACT Team Leader(s).
  • Offer education and consultation to team members, other agencies, or community groups as requested by the Program Director.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is preferred. An Associate's Degree in a relevant field combined with applicable work experience may also be considered.
  • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment with frequent deadlines; must be high-energy, self-motivated, and proactive.
