Job Title: Peer Recovery Support Specialist

Greater Nashua Mental Health is seeking a full-time Peer Recovery Support Specialist to join our Substance Use Services Team. As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, you will use your lived experience and training to provide education and coaching to assist clients in engaging in substance use disorder treatment and recovery activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outreach, encouragement, and coaching to clients to support their effective engagement in treatment and recovery efforts.
  • Provide education on recovery for clients in every phase of the recovery journey.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and clients for information about community-based groups, activities, events, and services that support recovery efforts.
  • Assist clients to assess their recovery capital and develop their own goals to enhance their recovery capital.
  • Coach clients to explore strategies to support their recovery through self-directed and community-supported recovery supports and activities.
  • Provide peer recovery support services to recoverees in person, by phone, and/or in the community setting.
  • Work as part of an integrated team and communicate with colleagues, collateral contacts, supervisors, etc. regarding client care.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, preferred some college.
  • Recovery Coaching training, Completion of CCAR Training, CRSW certified preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of related work experience.
  • Familiarity with the Greater Nashua community, including a strong knowledge of resources and services that support recovery.
  • Ability to establish rapport with professionalism and strong boundaries.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and seek supervision when needed.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Email, Word, EXCEL).
