Clinical Psychologist

AvaMed Workforce is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at a correctional facility in Chowchilla, CA.
Job Responsibilities
- Consult with supervisors and treatment team members on complex cases.
- Document all care provided to inmates, including face-to-face contacts and Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings.
- Monitor inmate progress using CDCR Mental Health approved documentation formatting for progress notes.
- Apply community standard practices for non-medical treatment modalities and ethical standards.
- Perform mental status exams in face-to-face clinical interviews.
- Examine prior mental health records and other available documents to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Conduct mental health education and develop resources for mentally ill and sex offender patients.
- Assist patients in applying for entitlement benefits and community programs.
- Facilitate patient transitions between settings within the institution.
- Perform pre-release functions, including patient education and transition to community mental health treatment programs.
- Participate in IDTT meetings and compile data from audits.
- Provide written reports and consult with the Board of Prison Hearings and other CDCR staff.
- Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caregivers.
- Represent the Department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters.
- Protect and maintain safety and security of property and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the correctional facility.
Requirements
A Psychologist license by the California State Board of Psychology is required.
