Program Overview
The UCLA Health Antelope Valley-UCLA Public Partnerships (AV-UPP) Program is seeking a full-time Therapist to join our team. As a Therapist, you will work with children (ages 0-21), parents, and families on placement, adoption, and attachment issues. Your primary duties will include:
- Providing training and mentoring on mental health issues of this population to professionals and parents in the community
- Consultation to interdisciplinary team members
- Providing age-appropriate assessments and interventions
- Leading parent support groups and providing supportive therapeutic environments with special attention to issues of placement and adoption with prenatally substance-exposed children
- Providing temperament counseling for parents
- Conducting developmental evaluations of children
- Holding a caseload of individual therapy and collateral therapy
- Planning and delivering training sessions for clients, social workers, attorneys, judges, educators, and other mental health care professionals
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a Master's or Doctorate degree in Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT) or Counseling. You must also have an appropriate CA License in Marriage Family Therapy or Professional Clinical Counselor. Experience with mental health treatment and intervention techniques for children (ages 0-21) and their parents is essential, as well as knowledge in parent-child intervention with high-risk children. Knowledge of normal child development, parenting, and child abuse/neglect is also required. Experience with the Department of Mental Health billing and paperwork requirements is preferred, as is experience providing evidence-based practices to children and families.
Salary Range
$64,800/yr - $137,600/yr
