Position Summary
This position is designed for nurses with over 12 months of experience, who are expected to demonstrate proficiency in nursing skills and actively engage in unit governance. The Clinical Nurse II will independently manage and coordinate patient care within a specialized clinical area, serving as a vital member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role emphasizes accountability for patient care processes and outcomes, as well as contributions to the advancement of nursing practices within the unit.
Unit Description
The Shock Trauma Outpatient Pavilion (STOP) is dedicated to the ongoing care of trauma patients post-discharge from inpatient services. The clinic encompasses multiple trauma specialties, including Trauma teams A, B, and C, as well as services in Vascular, Soft Tissue, Neuro Trauma, Plastic Surgery, and Acute Care Emergency Surgery (ACES). Additionally, the clinic provides comprehensive follow-up care for Orthopedic Trauma patients, supported by a team of Orthopedic Physicians and allied health professionals.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of probationary evaluation; current compliance with mandatory training.
- Registered Nurse licensure in Maryland or eligibility through Compact state agreements.
- Maintenance of a minimum of 10 contact hours of continuing education annually.
- Active membership in a professional nursing organization.
- Recent relevant clinical experience in a similar healthcare setting.

- Proven leadership abilities, demonstrated through roles such as charge nurse or clinical mentor.
- Proficient in utilizing healthcare information systems for patient management.
- Knowledgeable in providing age-appropriate care, with an understanding of developmental principles across the lifespan.
