The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Penn State University is seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct research in the field of water quality. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of faculty members to conduct research, train students, and support laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in water quality, focusing on measuring concentrations of chemicals in air and water using instruments such as ICs, GCs, HPLCs, and organic carbon analyzers.
- Support faculty members in their research endeavors and provide training to students in laboratory techniques and health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement research projects, and contribute to the development of research proposals and publications.
- PhD in environmental engineering or a related field by the appointment start date.
- Laboratory experience related to measuring concentrations of chemicals in air and water on instruments such as ICs, GCs, HPLCs, and organic carbon analyzers.
- Good evidence of research experience based on publications on these topics or related topics in peer-reviewed journals.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with analytical techniques used in the laboratory.

This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal depending on performance and funding availability.
