We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join our team at the Bio-Motion Systems Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State University.
Job Description:The successful candidate will work on a project sponsored by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) to study the neuromechanics of insect flight control. This project involves bridging flight control mechanisms at the system and neural level in collaboration with UCLA.
Responsibilities:- Conduct research on the neuromechanics of insect flight control
- Develop and implement quantitative analysis methods for animal behavior and data science
- Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals
- Ph.D. in a quantitative field (engineering, biophysics, or a related field) by the start date
- Experience in quantitative analysis of animal behavior, data science, and/or modeling biological systems
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB and/or Python
