Job Overview

SUPERVISORY ROLE: None.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ERSEA Program Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the ERSEA Coordinator with the effective management and execution of Family/Community Services, Home Base Program, and ERSEA in alignment with the Head Start Program Performance Standards, philosophy, and mission.

This position contributes to the agency's vision of empowering individuals to become healthy, self-sufficient, and engaged members of their communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Organize and maintain Family/Community Services and ERSEA documentation, including confidential records and tracking of all Head Start referrals.
  2. Support recruitment efforts by participating in community events related to Head Start.
  3. Manage inventory and ensure the availability of Outreach and Recruitment materials.
  4. Keep records of all ERSEA community activities.
  5. Conduct annual updates of ERSEA documentation.
  6. Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of all ERSEA-related materials.
  7. Assist the ERSEA Liaison and Coordinator in preparing for meetings, training sessions, and monitoring activities.
  8. Represent the Head Start program professionally in all interactions.
  9. Utilize the ChildPlus System for daily ERSEA verification, reporting, and tracking of families as necessary.
  10. Participate in required conferences, meetings, and training sessions.
  11. Complete Head Start applications accurately as needed.
  12. Provide excellent customer service to the public and staff through various communication channels.
  13. Respond to inquiries and messages in a timely manner.
  14. Provide relevant recruitment and enrollment information to the community.
  15. Exemplify professionalism for staff, parents, children, clients, and community members.
  16. Foster a collaborative environment within the program and agency.
  17. Encourage and embrace diversity actively.
  18. Adhere to universal precautions and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  19. Be willing to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the position.
  20. Travel for agency-related duties as required.
  21. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Human Services or a related field with at least 30 college units in Human Services preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of relevant experience in a non-profit organization, preschool, or educational program.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software; ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; strong communication skills; valid driver's license and reliable transportation; successful completion of background checks and health screenings as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands of this position include regular sitting, using hands for various tasks, and effective communication. The employee may occasionally need to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels while performing their duties.
