Floor Care Specialist

Plymouth Court SNF, LLC is seeking a highly detail-oriented and thorough Floor Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our Residents.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize Resident rooms, offices, hallways, and other areas inside and outside the facility.
- Perform floor care tasks, including stripping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, steaming, mopping, and sweeping in assigned areas.
- Operate mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, and related housekeeping equipment.
- Clean vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes, and other high areas using a ladder.
- Perform deep cleaning procedures of Resident rooms and prepare rooms for new occupants.
- Dust horizontal surfaces and fill soap and paper towel dispensers daily.
- Collect and transport trash and contaminated waste to main collection receptacles.
- Ensure established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times.
- Report all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment, and supply issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of Residents and interact with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect, and promotes a caring environment.
- Assist with new admissions, re-admissions, and assist with the transfer of Residents to different rooms within the facility.
- Assist with training of new staff as needed.
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
- Assure all floorcare and cleaning checklists are accomplished by staff daily and turned in to Manager.
- Keep the Environmental Services Director informed of pertinent events or equipment concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Promote and protect Resident Rights; assist Residents to make informed decisions; treat Residents with dignity and respect; protect Residents' personal belongings; report suspected abuse or neglect; avoid the need for physical restraints in accordance with current professional standards; support independent expression, choice, and decision-making consistent with applicable law and regulation.
- Adhere to patient rights and report suspected deviations to Charge Nurse, Director of Nursing, or Administrator.
- Apply hand washing principles during daily work; demonstrate understanding of isolation and standard precautions; recognize signs and symptoms of infection and comply with the employee health program; demonstrate understanding of the process for identifying and handling infectious waste; maintain personal hygiene; comply with OSHA standards in the workplace; and demonstrate understanding of cross-contamination.
- Perform other duties and functions as required.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a housekeeping role preferred.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of Residents.
- Sufficient ability to read, write, and speak to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.
