Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join its Fleet Management Services team. As a key member of the Business Office, this role will play a critical part in supporting the fiscal operations of the OFMS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in compiling expenditures data, processing, tracking, and submitting invoices.
  • Monitor and reconcile budgets and funding programs.
  • Facilitate purchases through the Commonwealth's online electronic procurement system (eVA).

Requirements

  • Experience providing technical assistance in accounting and/or financial policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Experience handling accounting functions, including payables, receivables, and General Ledger entries.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and processes, including GAAP and GASB.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commonwealth Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA) certification.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Management System and automated financial and accounting systems.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, including printers, copiers, and scanners.
