Position Overview

The Advanced Solar Performance Technician plays a crucial role in executing sophisticated troubleshooting and intricate service diagnostics. This position is also tasked with mentoring and nurturing the growth of fellow team members within the Field Performance division. A valid electrical certification in accordance with state regulations is a prerequisite for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, oversee, and uphold the warranty and service timetable.
  • Collaborate with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and Branch Manager to effectively distribute labor resources for service and warranty initiatives.
  • Facilitate training and development programs for Field Service Technicians and Field Communications Technicians.
  • Conduct regular meetings to align and educate the local field service team on best practices.
  • Support the onboarding and training processes for new members of the field performance team.
  • Consistently surpass established goals for field performance metrics, including turnaround time, customer experience ratings, and average dispatches completed.
  • Assist with additional tasks such as inspections and site audits as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of field construction experience, with at least 1 year as a service technician in the solar sector.
  • A high school diploma is mandatory.
  • Experience in PV design or electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid state or local Electrical Journeyman license is required.

Electrical/PV Installation Expertise
  • Comprehensive understanding of current NEC codes and the ability to interpret single-line diagrams and PV systems from installation to connection.
  • Solid grasp of electrical principles related to solar interconnection and operational standards.

  • Adherence to company safety protocols and the ability to identify and report safety hazards.
  • Encouragement of safe work practices among team members.

  • Ability to build rapport and foster loyalty with both external and internal stakeholders.

Physical Requirements
  • Capability to transport materials and equipment, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work on rooftops and navigate various surfaces, requiring frequent physical movements.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
