Job Overview

The role of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is essential in delivering support and care to patients in our hospital and community-based residential facility (CBRF).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating active engagement in rehabilitation programs.
  • Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Providing education, supervision, and safety measures for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document objective information about each patient's functional capabilities and restrictions, while monitoring and recording relevant data as per treatment plans and therapeutic protocols.
  • Encourage opportunities for patients to learn responsibility, independence, and positive social interactions.
  • Attend to patients' immediate needs related to safety, education, hygiene, and comfort, promoting their independence in daily activities (ADLs), meals, bathing, laundry, community involvement, recreational pursuits, and vocational skills).
  • Work with patients across various settings according to their schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and patients, ensuring alignment with individual treatment plans and patient requirements.
  • Comply with the administrative, clinical, and human resource policies of Lakeview Specialty Hospital and Rehab.

Qualifications:

  • Skills and Knowledge: Understanding of brain injury consequences and neurological disorders, along with knowledge of physical, cognitive, psychological, emotional, and communication challenges. BLS CPR certification is required. Proficiency in the EMR Welsky system is expected within 90 days of employment.
  • Education: Completion of a certified nursing assistant program is mandatory, with high school graduation preferred.
  • Licensure: Must maintain current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of WI. A valid driver's license is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience working with an acute care population is preferred.

We are seeking candidates for both Day and Night shifts.
