Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant I works in a dynamic and patient-centered environment, providing direct care to patients in a urology clinic setting. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care, including taking vitals, patient history, and performing lab and x-ray procedures.
  • Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and contributes to the assessment and re-assessment of patients.
  • Monitors and documents patient status, manages large call volumes, and maintains excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Organizes workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner and retrieves and transports medications, instruments, and supplies.
  • Participates in the development of the plan of care, including implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience in patient care as a Medical Assistant or similar patient care role preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
  • One of the following certifications required upon hire: Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel, etc.
