Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant II works in a dynamic ambulatory setting, providing direct patient care and supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires a strong foundation in medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides direct patient care, including taking vitals, patient history, and performing lab and x-ray procedures as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor.
Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and contributes to the assessment and re-assessment of patients.
Monitors and documents patient status, manages large call volumes, and maintains excellent telephone etiquette.
Organizes workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner and retrieves and transports medications, instruments, and supplies as needed.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
3-5 years of experience in patient care as a Medical Assistant or similar role preferred.
Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire; one of the following certifications also required: Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel, or Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
