Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant I - Bilingual to join our team at Variety Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Providers with patient examinations, pre-visit questions, treatments, and procedures as directed.
  • Greets and welcomes patients, escorts them to the appropriate location, and gathers pre-examination information.
  • Measures and records patient-specific information, including height, weight, respiration, pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and pulse oximetry.
  • Administers medications and injections under Provider direction and documents in the electronic medical record.
  • Reviews assigned Telephone Encounters within the EMR in a timely manner.
  • Assists Providers in physical exams and procedures as directed.
  • Participates in training programs to improve patient care and demonstrates a commitment to evidence-based practice approaches.
  • Communicates effectively with patients and families, considering cultural sensitivity and confidentiality.
  • Follows Universal Precautions for safety regulations and uses Personal Protective Equipment as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
  • Ability to use or willing to learn electronic medical records software.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including data entry and typing.
  • Ability to demonstrate an ability to perform tasks, administer medications, and injections, and has knowledge of instrumentation used in lab point-of-care testing.
Preferred Requirements
  • Medical Assistant Certificate or LPN License.
  • Previous experience in a medical assistant role or clinic/primary practice setting.
