About the Team

The Merchant Finance & Strategy division plays a crucial role in driving our business growth by discovering and executing new opportunities through our partnerships with Merchants across the Marketplace and Platform Services. We collaborate with various teams within the organization to enhance the profitability, scalability, and sustainability of our business model.

About the Role

In this position, you will serve as both a leader and a mentor, delivering financial guidance and analytical support to your Merchant and Platform Services partners, as well as to the Finance leadership team. You will take ownership of the Merchant financial framework for the organization and spearhead the strategic, annual, and quarterly planning processes. This role will involve overseeing deal analysis and strategies that bolster executive management's decision-making capabilities and effectiveness in achieving the company's financial and overall business objectives. You will report directly to the VP of US Finance & Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial framework and planning process for the DoorDash Platform, encompassing our first-party fulfillment services, digital ordering, and various emerging opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategic and long-term comprehensive business plans in partnership with key executive stakeholders.
  • Create detailed financial models to support investment decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance & Strategy, CFO, Chief Revenue Officer, and Business Development leaders to ensure the establishment of an effective financial infrastructure that meets current and future business needs.
  • Work with the Accounting team to develop financial management mechanisms that mitigate financial risks.
  • Lead, expand, and mentor a high-performing team.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or investment banking within a high-growth technology startup or established firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing high-potential teams and fostering a positive culture.
  • Extensive background in deal negotiation, analysis, and strategy formulation.
  • A growth-oriented leader capable of managing financial resources and fostering entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage data and insights to influence high-level organizational strategies and decisions.
  • Proficient in identifying creative solutions that yield mutually beneficial outcomes for multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across functions and departments, organizing teams to champion initiatives and drive results.
  • Experience working with Accounting and a solid understanding of GAAP and corporate finance principles.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to distill complex financial data into accessible models and analyses for strategic recommendations.
  • Experience manipulating large datasets to uncover insights and enhance business understanding; SQL proficiency is a significant advantage.
  • Prior experience in B2B services, SaaS, supply chain and logistics, or high-growth marketplaces is preferred.
Compensation

The compensation package for this role includes a competitive base salary and opportunities for equity grants. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, relevant experience, and specific work location.
