RAYUS Radiology is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to enhance our team. We are redefining the field of radiology, emphasizing its vital role in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Join us in our mission to elevate patient care.

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to conduct all Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET/CT) procedures in accordance with established protocols to ensure high-quality patient care. You will be encouraged to continuously expand your knowledge and expertise in the field, including advancements in procedures and understanding of diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

(75%) Patient Imaging:

  • Execute routine and advanced PET/CT procedures on specified body areas for diagnostic and treatment purposes with minimal supervision.
  • Screen patients prior to procedures for any relevant precautions or contraindications.
  • Prepare and explain the PET/CT procedures to patients, ensuring they are positioned correctly and providing support throughout the process.
  • Adjust scanning parameters as necessary, employing dose reduction techniques where applicable.
  • Foster positive relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
  • Assess, prepare, document, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission and departmental guidelines.
  • Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients.
  • Exhibit knowledge of safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment, integral to quality patient care.
  • Report any contamination incidents to the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Ensure compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.

(20%) Imaging Support:

  • Conduct general maintenance on PET/CT scanners and mobile units.
  • Perform and document daily quality control checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Execute and record quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment regularly to meet ACR and AOA standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues when possible and escalate problems to the supervisor.
  • Conduct departmental surveys to ensure adherence to radiation safety standards set by the department and regulatory bodies.

(5%) Additional Duties:
