Patient Care Associate

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team at Spaulding Hospital Cape Cod. As a Patient Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide patient care services, including bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linen, as per established guidelines.
- Assist patients with meals and positioning, lifting, and turning, using adaptive and transfer equipment as needed.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and blood glucose levels, performing tasks as per established guidelines.
- Document patient care in a timely manner, adhering to established standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized patient room environment.
- Participate in mentoring and teaching new nursing assistants to meet performance expectations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; nursing assistant certification preferred.
- Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic skills in math and computer science.
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
- Enrollment in a Nursing, Pre-Med, or Physician Assistant undergraduate program, with a minimum of one semester of completed patient care rotations.
- Possession of a valid license, certification, or enrollment in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT-accredited program.
This role requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with frequent exposure to blood-borne pathogens, infectious diseases, and other hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing situations.
